Southampton vs Leicester
Friday sees Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes travel to the South Coast in their quest for Champions League football. Leicester had a great chance of qualifying last season but blew it in their last few games and will be anxious not to repeat the mistake this year. Ralph Hassenhutl’s Southampton should be safe from relegation now but a win will do wonders to settle anxious Saints fans.
Leicester’s 2-1 comeback win over Crystal Palace on Monday ensures they come into this fixture four points clear of fourth placed Chelsea. They face a Saints side who have lost four of their last five games in the Premier League. The last time these two teams met in the Premier League at St Mary’s, Leicester scored nine; we don’t think they’ll do quite that well this time but with Kelechi Icheanacho in a rich vein of form this should be another routine win for the Foxes.

Everton vs Aston Villa
Everton’s 1-0 win over Arsenal on Friday ended a run of five games without a win, ensuring the Toffees remain eighth and with an outside chance of qualifying for some European competition next season. They face a Villa side who snatched a last gasp draw against the relegation-threatened Baggies at the weekend and who have only won one of their last eight Premier League games.
Chief to Villa’s problems is the continuing absence of talismanic captain Jack Grealish. The England attacking midfielder has been out with shin splints for some time and manager Dean Smith will be desperate for his return. Everton haven’t beaten Villa in the Premier League since smashing them 4-0 at Goodison Park back in 2015. This might be the best time to change that.

Manchester United vs Liverpool
Matches between the Red Devils and the Reds have always been hotly contested in the past and while there will not be any fans at Old Trafford to witness one, it should still be an intense game. Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s team probably have too much ground to make up on Manchester City now to try for the title but they can secure Champions League football here with a win if results go the right way elsewhere. This is in stark contrast to last season’s Premier League champions Liverpool, who find themselves in sixth place and in danger of not qualifying for the Champions League at all.
Manchester United ended a run of five straight Premier League wins with a tough away draw at Elland Road last weekend, while Liverpool made it five without defeat with their draw at home to Newcastle. This is a very tough game to call with both teams anxious not to lose which will probably result in a game of few goals.

West Bromwich Albion vs Wolves
Sunday sees the latest edition of the Black Country derby with West Bromwich Albion desperately clinging onto any hope of Premier League survival. An injury time equaliser conceded to close rivals Aston Villa last time out leave them in 19th place with 25 points and needing a miracle to survive. They face a Wolves side who were smashed 4-0 by Burnley at home last time out and who have won just twice in their last eight games.
The Baggies have won the last three Black Country derbies, beating Wolves 3-2 in the reverse fixture in January. While the arrival of Sam Allardyce has seen West Brom start to pick up points they cannot stop leaking goals, having conceded eight in their last five games. Wolves on the other hand have kept three clean sheets in their last six games and will be anxious to make amends after last weekend’s horror show. It promises to be a feisty affair and one we think the Wolves will emerge victorious.
