The Championnat de France National is the third tier of professional football in France. Known simply as “National”, the tournament is contested by 18 teams from across France and Corsica. The top two teams are promoted to Ligue 2 while the bottom four teams are relegated to the regional French leagues. Teams play 34 games in a season which runs from August until May.
