Bournemouth take on Arsenal in the early Premier League kick off on Sunday with both teams looking to improve on recent results. Once again we’ve put together our Premier League preview with football tips, team news and predictions to help you get the most from your betting.
Premier League Preview: Bournemouth team news
Eddie Howe’s men come into this match unbeaten in four games in all competitions but having only won one game in the Premier League since November. If the task of changing that against Arsenal wasn’t big enough, they have to do it without star striker Jermain Defoe, who broke his ankle just before Christmas and has been ruled out for three months. Junior Stanislas and Josh King face late fitness tests ahead of the game too, ensuring that the Cherries could be a little light up front.
Defensively, Bournemouth will have to shape up too. In their last five Premier League games they have conceded 14 goals and they have not kept a clean sheet at the Vitality Stadium in six games. With that statistic in mind it’s unsurprising that the bookies are only offering around 1.5 for over 2.5 goals and 1.48 for both teams to score.
Premier League Preview: Arsenal team news
It’s safe to say it’s been a rough start to 2018 for Arsene Wenger. Beaten comprehensively by Nottingham Forest 4-2 in the FA Cup and held to draws twice by rivals Chelsea in the Premier League and the Carabao Cup, Wenger is once again facing the wrath of the Gunners faithful.
Yet despite all of the angst from the terraces the results on the pitch might not be as bad as they could have been. Arsenal are without defeat in the Premier League since the beginning of December – although they have drawn no less than five of those seven games – and despite a worsening injury crisis they are not yet out of the race for Champion’s League placings.
The treatment room is full at the moment at the Emirates however. Jack Wilshere, Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac all face late fitness tests ahead of this game while Laurent Koscielny, Nacho Monreal and Olivier Giroud remain sidelined. With Francis Coquelin gone to Valencia and Alexis Sanchez potentially on his way too one might think that the 1.71 offered by the bookies against an Arsenal win is a bit skinny.
Premier League Preview: Latest Tips
Despite the trials and tribulations suffered by Arsenal of late the early tipsters at ProTipster are backing Wenger’s men in force, with 40 tipsters backing Arsenal to win out of the 60 tips posted.
There aren’t many takers for the Asian handicap line however, with the bookies setting the line at Bournemouth +0.75 / Arsenal -0.75 currently. It’s easily possible however that line will move when the lineups are announced and the full extent of injuries are known to both sides.
