With spring almost upon us the Premier League is starting to enter the most exciting phase of the season. Chelsea look certs for the title but the scrap for the remaining Champions League places looks tighter than ever. At the other end, the relegation fight is heating up with just seven points separating the bottom seven teams. I’ve put together some Premier League betting tips, analysis and predictions from two of the best games this weekend to give you some pointers for your betting.
Liverpool v Arsenal Premier League betting tips and analysis
While on the surface this is a match between two teams chasing a top four position it’s also a scrap between two increasingly under-fire managers. Since the turn of the year Liverpool have been poor and the defeat to Leicester City will only have added to the pressure that Jurgen Klopp is starting to feel.
Meanwhile, the Premier League’s longest serving manager Arsene Wenger is under the most pressure he’s ever been under as Arsenal boss with the potential of another trophy-less season for the Gunners. Qualification for the Champions League is a must and Arsenal cannot afford to have Liverpool overhaul them.
On the injury front, Jordan Henderson looks likely to miss out again for Liverpool but Dejan Lovren and Daniel Sturridge should be fit. Arsenal could have Mesut Ozil back this weekend but Santi Cazorla has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
Arsenal have been poor away from home in big games – Manchester City, Chelsea and Bayern Munich all spring to mind this season but Liverpool have won only two games in 12 in all competitions. Arsenal have only lost once in their last eight visits to Anfield but will have to deal with Klopp’s high pressing system to get anything positive this time.
ProTipster Premier League betting tips: I think Liverpool should win this but I’m not sure. What I am sure of is that there will be goals – both teams can be fragile defensively and I’m going for over 2.5 goals at 1.70.
Leicester City v Hull City
The recent win over Liverpool will have done wonders for Leicester City’s morale, drawing them clear of the drop zone. I wasn’t sure whether the players would raise their game now Claudio Ranieri has gone but there was a clear improvement in performance. If the Foxes are not to suffer the ignominy of relegation following their title success then they must keep performing until the end of the season.
Hull City might be 19th but there has been an improvement to their form since Marco Silva came in. However, their away record has been truly horrendous this season. The Tigers are without a win away from the KCOM Stadium in the Premier League since August and they’ve scored one Premier League goal away from home in nine away games stretching back to October.
This game should be like a cup final for both teams as they will have both targeted it as a game to take points from. Hull have some serious injury problems though with the latest injury being to Dieumerci Mbokani, who has been ruled out for six weeks.
My Premier League betting tips – I’m all over Leicester City to win this at 1.82. If they can perform the same way they did against Liverpool this should be a comfortable win.
