If you’ve been following my football match betting tips posted on this blog, then you’d have had quite a successful week. A run of five successive wins for football match betting tips in the Champions League and Europa League was destroyed by a couple of losses this weekend on shorter odds bets. It’s left me scratching my head a little bit.
Champions League football match betting tips
PSG were undoubtedly my favourite tips of the week. I took a lot of stick in the office for daring to suggest that Barcelona would lose, with my Spanish colleague Ari in particular telling me that PSG had no chance. I took great delight the next morning giving him the nod and the wink along with the “I told you so”. I will admit I didn’t think it would be 4-0 – but I did think that the pressure Luis Enrique is under would tell.
This week I’m looking forward to two games in particular – Man City against Monaco tomorrow night and Sevilla v Leicester City on Wednesday. I’ll be previewing them in depth on the blog complete with football match betting tips in the coming days so keep an eye out for them.
Europa League football match betting tips
I billed the Manchester United v St Etienne game as a “Pogba v Pogba” style match but the truth is that match only belonged to one player – Zlatan Ibrahimovic. I will admit right now that I didn’t think the Swedish superstar would have the effect he has had at Old Trafford this season and it’s been no problem to eat humble pie on that one.
It’s the return leg of that fixture on Wednesday but with the score as it is I’m more interested in two games where a visiting team hold a slender first leg lead. Tottenham Hotspur were surprise losers to Gent in Belgium and must overcome a 1-0 deficit while Apoel Nicosia scored two away goals at Athletic Bilbao to set up a very intriguing second leg in Cyprus. I’ll be looking at those matches in full depth with football match betting tips.
Weekend football match betting tips
Isn’t it typical after landing some bigger odds winners, you back a few short priced football match betting tips and they fall flat on their face. Bastia have been dreadful this season and I fully expected Monaco to smash them – but it was not to be. Likewise, while Hertha have had a decent season Bayern are like a steam train at the moment – I did not expect the Bavarians to have to rely on a late equaliser to even take a point.
I guess it’s what makes football interesting – that the underdog can win – but it doesn’t half ruin my betting fun! It does prove however that value is more important than form – something all the best tipsters will tell you when betting on sports.
