Assane Demoya Gnoukori, Inter Milan and heart problems
Inter Milan have had poor luck with players with heart problems in recent years. Current Inter player Jonathan Biebany was due to sign for Inter Milan in 2014 from Parma only to have the transfer cancelled when a medical uncovered an irregular heartbeat, causing him to miss the first half of the 2014/15 season. Following Parma’s bankruptcy in April 2015, Biebany had his contract cancelled and he finally completed his move to Inter Milan in July 2015 as a free agent.
In previous years one of the more famous cases that affected Inter Milan was that of Nwankwo Kanu. The Nigerian superstar signed for Inter Milan after a strong showing at the 1996 Olympics when he won Gold with his country. However a medical examination showed that Kanu was suffering a serious heart defect and he underwent an operation in November 1996 to replace an aortic valve. As a result of his experiences Kanu started and funded a foundation which helps predominately young African children who are suffering heart defects.
