Crystal Palace vs Liverpool
The last game of Matchday 2 features two teams who made a really good start to the season. It means we could all be up for a real thriller at Selhurst Park.
Crystal Palace have lost each of their last three home league games against Liverpool - it's their longest losing home run against the Reds in league competition
The best Palace player - WIlfred Zaha - was a subject of many transfer speculation during the summer and yet he remains with the team. Zaha will make Crystal Palace history, being their top scorer ever, if he can find the back of the net at Selhurst Park on Monday night, less than a week after he signed a new five-year contract with the Eagles.
Hodgson had only high praise words for his best player after he signed the contract: "He's very, very good; all players have got qualities of course, and there aren't many players who can literally do every single thing."
After a really good display and a comfortable 0-2 victory against Fulham during the Matchday 1, more good news follow, as Hodgson has no fresh injury concerns so can pick from a full-strength squad.
After Gameday 1, Liverpool sit at the top of the table, having trashed West Ham 4-0, and yet again, it was their attacking trio - Mane, Salah, Firmino - that made all the difference.
Sadio Mane scored twice as Liverpool thrashed West Ham 4-0 at Anfield last weekend, taking an early lead ahead of Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino in the goalscoring stakes early on - even if the Egyptian will be favourite to overturn that soon enough.
The trio will be their main strenght in this game as well, as Max Meyer could make his Crystal Palace debut against Klopp's side. The summer signing from Schalke missed last weekend's 2-0 win at Fulham as he fought for full match fitness.
Joel Matip could find his place in the centre of the defense and Brazilian box-to-box midfielder could also break into starting 11 after recovering from a small injury.
Odds and Predictions
Crystal Palace are really showing good form and are playing decent to good football, but this Liverpool team is simply too strong. At the moment, no one can stop their attacking trio with Keita bringing an extra energy impluse in the midfield. I can see the Reds winning this one in a goal-fest of a match.
Editor's Pick
Liverpool winning the game but also concede at least one goal. Both to score in any case.
